The event will focus on current issues affecting education both regionally and nationally from representatives from One Awards, NOCN and Local Stakeholders. The event also offers networking opportunities with education providers working with One Awards, representatives from NOCN and One Awards and other stakeholders.

Access to HE Forum 2019
We warmly invite all with an interest in the Access to HE Diploma to this year’s practitioner forum.
Date: Tuesday 11th June 2019
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm (registration from 9.30am)
Venue: Sir Tom Cowie Building, St Peter's Campus, University of Sunderland
The event will focus on current issues affecting Access to Higher Education which we will explore through a range of workshops (details to follow). The Access to HE Forum also offers networking opportunities with Access to HE providers, representatives from Higher Education, moderators and other stakeholders.

In the Spotlight: What’s going on in the Tees Valley?
Tees Valley Combined Authority is the combined authority for the Tees Valley urban area in England consisting of the following five unitary authorities: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, covering a population of approximately 700,000 people.
As part of the Devolution Deal for Tees Valley, the Tees Valley Combined Authority will take over responsibility for the Adult Education Budget currently administered by the Education Skills Funding Agency, to deliver adult skills provision in the Tees Valley from 1 August 2019. The funding will help to support a more responsive, flexible skills system. It will target the training paths needed to better connect with business demand, driving business growth and helping residents fill the roles of today and tomorrow.
Adult Education Budget
A budget of £29,446.518 has been confirmed by DfE which is based on 2017/18 delivery to Tees Valley residents.
Tees Valley Combined Authority Commissioning Process:
The commissioning process for the devolved Adult Education Budget was launched 30th November 2018 and closed on 1 February 2019.
Appraisal of Delivery Plans is currently taking place.
Successful providers will be issued with Indicative Funding Awards in April 2019, these will be subject to Cabinet approval in May 2019.
Funding Agreements will be issued to successful providers in June 2019.
